Anne’s Story

Bridging the Gap Between Awareness and Action

Have you ever found something that is just too good not to share it?

That’s how I feel about what I do.

I originally trained as an accountant in industry and for a long time, I behaved as if my life was not under my control. I held on to negative beliefs and unconsciously created a life that was just so much harder than it needed to be. By 2007 it was clear that things had to change and my quest for a better way to live my life began.

The most important thing that I have learned is that our experience of life is determined by how we think and what we believe, and that we can change that for the better. Realising this was a major turning point in my life and I have spent the last 10 years or more learning about how we experience the world, how we decide who we are and what we are capable of.

I studied how we develop as human beings and what creates the beliefs that we hold about ourselves and the world around us. But this was only part of the picture as what I had was a lot of information with no idea what I was going to do about any of the things I now knew about myself.

This is where NLP came in and bridged the gap between awareness and action.

I learned simple yet powerful ways to master our mindset in a way that leads to getting more of what we want out of life, enhances our experience, our resilience, and ability to adapt to change. And the beauty of it is that all the processes, tools and techniques are not only incredibly effective but are also easy to learn which means you can quickly start to get the benefits and to share what you learn with others too!

I believe so strongly in the effectiveness of what I have learned that I changed how I work to focus on sharing this with as many people as possible through training, speaking and one to one coaching which I aim is to do in an expansive way. What do I mean by that? An expansive approach means that the people I work with don’t just get help with today’s problem, they get information, tools, and techniques that they can use to help themselves in the future and they can share them with people around them so that they can get the benefit of them too.

Andrew’s Story

A Gateway to New Thinking

IT to a New Me.

2012 was a year of celebration in the UK, we were hosting the summer Olympics and the country was a buzz with the excitement and anticipation. For me it was a time of change, my relationship had ended and I had been transferred to a new employer (TUPEd) in my career to face an unknown future that was now moving alongside how I felt about my identity.

Routine kept me functioning and alcohol numb.

It was only months before the impact materialised at work, when I came into the office to discover someone else managing my team! This was the catalyst of change; the event that led me to a 3 day NLP based programme design for personal growth.

I am not saying all my problems went away, but I am saying I learnt about thinking differently, and reframing, this was my new power.

  • The journey then began with a passion
  • 2013 I attended my NLP Practitioner training
  • 2014 was Master Practitioner and Coaching training
  • 2015 was NLP and Hypnosis Trainers Training

With my background as a swimming coach, we discussed the value of swimming as a gateway to other sports. It provides confidence to safely do a multitude of other activities. I think of NLP in the same way. NLP is a gateway, a gateway to new thinking. Once you begin to think in a new way, the world is your oyster and you are the master of your own destiny.

My new thinking has already guided me to explore many new worlds of interest. With an open mind I continue to explore other areas that bring me joy. NLP has led me to now share my passion through coaching and training others. Enabling them to learn and experience new skills that can change their lives. Outside of coaching and training, I get to work with other organisations using my NLP skills to create positive change. These include a veteran’s charity, a cancer support group and within the NHS.

It Really is Never Too Late

So, have you ever heard the saying “it’s never too late to start again”? Well that’s exactly how I feel about my life on this planet right now.

I left school in 1981 with a handful of qualifications and landed a traditional apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery. I became a master craftsman. I loved the creativity of the job but not the 9-to-5.

At the age of 25 and disillusioned with the course my life was taking I started to look outside my chosen profession for meaning. Yes, I continued to work and still do work as a carpenter joiner today, but I have picked up many skills along the way.

I have studied Tibetan Buddhist meditation, transcendental meditation and trained in Goju rye Karate. I joined a soul and funk band singing and playing percussion and I’ve worked with mentally handicapped giving percussion workshops. I submerged myself into the sonorous world of overtone chanting and Tibetan throat singing. Then, In the year 2000 I met my tai chi master and started studying chen style tai chi. In 2008 I began teaching Chen style tai chi and chi gong and I marvel at the results that this wise exercise brings to people of all ages. However, a certain cohesion was lacking from all of these skills I had acquired. Incredibly this affected my ability to be happy in this world. I began to grow tired and started to lose my energy. I was a fit healthy 53-year-old man leading a healthy life style, or so I thought then the unexpected happened. I suffered a heart attack.

This was a wake-up call to say the least. However, the grace of synchronicity was on my side and I discovered Julie Provino. Julie’s NLP and mindfulness training has blessed my life with the cohesion and confidence in my skills that I have always needed. My new journey is only just beginning but I recognise the power I possess to bring a new compassion filled career and life style that I always dreamed of. My motivation being to help others achieve whatever dreams they so desire. To give back. It really is “never too late “.
